Uniform
At North Cambridge Academy we believe that in having a school uniform, we give our young people a sense of identity, belonging and participation.
We use an external provider, Trutex, to supply our uniform. We have done a lot of work over the last two years to reduce the cost of uniform for our families.
We are now in the position where in effect only three items need to be purchased from Trutex (school jumper, school tie and school PE t-shirt). This puts families in a position that if other cost-effective uniform items (trousers, shoes, shirts) can be found elsewhere, then they can be bought in order to support the school’s uniform policy.
Further logoed products are still available through Trutex, (hockey t-shirt, P.E shorts, skorts, and blouses) but these are all optional.
Trutex do not supply footwear for the school. We ask all young people to wear black, non logoed shoes.

Jewellery
Students are permitted to wear the jewellery below if they wish to but no other jewellery.
- 2 x earrings per ear – studs or small hoops
- 1 x nose stud
- 1 x ring
- 1 x simple necklace
- 1 x simple bracelet
Socks and Tights
Students can wear any colour socks as long as they are plain in both colour and design. They should be ankle or knee length, not over the knee. Tights should be black or nude.

Uniform can be ordered online and delivered directly to your home or a specified delivery address.
All uniform is listed as being gender neutral with different combinations available for pupils to choose.
ORDERING PROCESS
We know that many parents prefer to order on-line – this service is available from Trutex Direct.

This will take you to the North Cambridge Academy uniform page, where you can see all items of our school uniform. The site is secure and orders can be placed quickly and safely, direct with Trutex. Alternatively, you can order from Trutex Direct by phone, call 01200 421206.
DELIVERY
School uniform is available from Trutex all year round. Postage and packaging is free on orders over £70 or from £3.50 for orders under £70. Trutex will normally deliver within 7 working days. However, during the busiest time towards the start of back to school this may take longer.
NCA UNIFORM BANK
We hold a limited supply of second-hand uniform in school to support any family in need of any items. All uniform bank items can be accessed at our weekly NCA Community Hub sessions (Wednesday 3:15pm – 4:30pm in the canteen).
Similarly, if your child has outgrown any current NCA uniform items, your donations would be gratefully received in good condition and washed before handing to Main Reception.
