Celebrating Achievement

North Cambridge Academy regularly celebrates the success and achievements of its students in a variety of different ways.

Weekly Principal’s Celebration Breakfast– Two students from each House are nominated by their Senior Tutor to join Jane Driver, Principal for a celebration breakfast. Senior Tutors select students who stand out for showing they truly embody the NCA values: Hardworking, Ambitious, Creative, Confident and Kind.

Whole Academy House Assemblies – There are dedicated house assemblies every week, which are an opportunity to  recognise individual, group and whole school achievements for fundraising, competitions, and the successful support of national events such as Anti-Bullying Week, Diversity Week and Mental Health Awareness Week.

Termly Celebration Award Assemblies – are run by each House at the end of every term where a broad range of student achievement is recognised and various awards are presented. Students in each subject receive certificates as recognition of effort, achievement and significant progress.

Presentation Evenings – NCA holds formal Presentation Evenings on an annual basis to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of its students.  The GCSE Presentation Evening, normally in November often has a guest speaker of note.

Attendance improvement celebrations – these include personalised certificates and tangible rewards such as: Christmas lunches, Easter eggs and summer BBQ meals.  Bronze/silver/gold attendance badges are also awarded to students with improvements and solid attendance throughout the terms and year.

Postcards to celebrate achievement – these are sent home by teachers to let families know and celebrate the positive work and attitude of their children.
